Talking to Teens about Contraceptives

Education, Youth, and Families, Health and Well-Being

About this Independent Study

This 1 hour online course includes an overview of the variety of contraceptive options available, and will cover ways that health care staff, especially community health workers, can start conversations with teenagers and young adults about those options, including abstinence.

At the end of this program, the CHW will be able to:

  • Discuss ways to start a conversation about contraceptives
  • List different kinds of contraceptives
  • Explain where to go for more information about contraceptives

Who Should Register

This course is designed for community health workers and community outreach/education staff. Other staff who work with teens and young adult clients, or who need an overview of contraceptives, will also benefit.
